agámi High Availability - agámiHA™

agámi Systems High Availability (agámiHA) technology is based on agámiFSR synchronous file system replication. agámiHA provides automated “shared nothing” failure detection and recovery—no component is shared between an AIS system that hosts a primary file system and the system that hosts its replica. Network links form the only connection between the two.

Enterprises can use agámiFSR replication on a local network to secure critical data against system failures. If an AIS system hosting a critical file system fails, an administrator can quickly enable its replica for writing and export it to clients in place of the primary. agámiHA automates the discovery of primary system and replication link failures, and the “failover” of file system service to the AIS system that hosts the replica.

The agámiHA high availability software option augments agámiFSR by automatically discovering primary AIS system failures and network partitions, and “failing over” to the pair’s secondary system.  The combination of agámiHA and agámiFSR can deliver both high availability and disaster recoverability for critical enterprise data in a single solution, reducing administrative complexity and cost.  See our File System Replication section for more information on agámiFSR.
